Bybit, the second-largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world by trading volume, has officially announced the extension of its strategic partnership with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).
Bybit is enthusiastic about expanding its role from a critical ecosystem partner to an advisory role, thereby underscoring its leadership in the rapidly expanding crypto and Web3 industry of Dubai, following a year of effective collaboration.
This expanded partnership represents a new chapter in the mutual dedication of Bybit and DMCC to the advancement and expansion of the crypto ecosystem in the region. Bybit will function as a DMCC Ecosystem and Advisory Partner from August 2024 to July 2025, providing strategic guidance to the DMCC Crypto Centre and its members on critical initiatives.
Enhancing Dubai’s Status as a Global Crypto Hub
Bybit and the DMCC Crypto Centre will collaborate to organise two significant industry events this year: a flagship conference and a global hackathon, in order to further solidify Dubai’s reputation as a global crypto centre. The conference will establish Dubai as a centre for thought leadership by bringing together industry experts and key opinion leaders, while the hackathon will encourage innovation by supporting developers in the development of cutting-edge Web3 projects.
In the past year, there have been numerous noteworthy accomplishments, such as a US$100,000 prize fund hackathon to assist blockchain startups, a Masterclass for aspiring entrepreneurs, the ‘Let Web3 Happen in Dubai’ event, which concentrated on security and compliance, and a high-profile side event at Token 2049. Bybit has actively supported and advised over 20 firms through these initiatives, thereby assisting them in gaining traction in Dubai’s dynamic crypto landscape.
By assuming an advisory role, Bybit will capitalise on its extensive industry expertise to influence the future of Dubai’s crypto and Web3 sector. The steadfast commitment of Bybit to supporting Dubai’s vision of becoming a global centre for Web3 and crypto is emphasised by this collaboration.
Helen Liu, Chief Operating Officer at Bybit, expressed her gratitude for being the inaugural organisation to be appointed to this advisory role by DMCC. “We are enthusiastic about utilising our expertise in this advisory role to foster industry growth and drive innovation in Dubai.”
Belal Jassoma, Director of Ecosystems at DMCC, further stated, “Bybit has been a truly valuable partner in Dubai’s crypto and Web3 community for the past year.” We are enthusiastic about the prospect of enhancing this partnership by providing our Crypto Centre members with new support as they expand their crypto businesses and access some of the most promising markets in the world through Bybit’s advisory role.
