Qatar Signals Progress on US-Iran Talks as Bitcoin Extends Recovery

Bitcoin Extends Recovery

Bitcoin climbed on Tuesday after Qatar confirmed that mediators are actively working to advance negotiations between the United States and Iran, boosting investor confidence amid easing geopolitical concerns in the Middle East.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency recovered from earlier losses, rising from around $63,500 to trade at $63,869.08 at the time of writing. Bitcoin posted a 1.97% gain over the past 24 hours on Tuesday, August 4, as traders reacted positively to diplomatic developments.

Speaking at a press conference in Doha, Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said mediators remain committed to facilitating dialogue between Washington and Tehran. He reiterated Qatar’s support for restoring stability in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy shipping route.

Al-Ansari emphasized that there is no confirmed timeline for reaching a final agreement but expressed hope that negotiations would conclude as quickly as possible. He stressed that a ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz are essential steps toward resuming meaningful talks.

According to Al-Ansari, Qatar, Pakistan, and Oman continue to coordinate efforts by exchanging proposals and supporting communication between both sides. He also praised Oman’s diplomatic role, describing Muscat’s contribution over recent weeks as both significant and constructive.

The renewed diplomatic momentum has helped improve market sentiment, with investors viewing the possibility of reduced regional tensions as a positive signal for global financial markets. Lower risks to energy supplies and international trade have encouraged demand for higher-risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.

From a technical perspective, Bitcoin found strong buying interest in the $62,400–$62,500 support zone before staging a sharp rebound above $63,500. The recovery erased a large portion of the previous decline and shifted short-term momentum back in favor of buyers.

Following the breakout, Bitcoin entered a consolidation phase, trading within the $63,500–$64,000 range. The formation of higher lows suggests that buying pressure remains intact despite the recent rally.

Market participants are now watching the $64,000 level as the next key resistance. A decisive move above that threshold could open the door for additional gains, while $63,500 is expected to serve as the first major support if the market experiences renewed selling pressure.
