Tokinvest Partners with Franklin Templeton to Offer Tokenised Money Market Fund in Middle East

Tokinvest has entered into a partnership with Franklin Templeton to distribute a tokenised money market fund to investors across the Middle East, expanding access to blockchain-based investment products in the region.

The offering is the Franklin OnChain U.S. Dollar Short-Term Money Market Fund, a sub-fund of Franklin Templeton Investments VCC, a Singapore-based variable capital company regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The fund invests in short-term, US dollar-denominated money market instruments and is issued through Franklin Templeton’s proprietary Benji platform across public blockchain networks.

Unlike standalone digital assets, each token represents ownership in the underlying fund shares. Returns generated by the fund are reinvested and reflected in its net asset value rather than being distributed as income. The fund does not provide capital guarantees.

Managing approximately $1.78 trillion in assets as of May 31, Franklin Templeton is regarded as one of the pioneering traditional asset managers in the tokenisation space.

Under the agreement, Tokinvest will oversee investor onboarding, order processing, trade execution, and platform access. Meanwhile, Synthesys Network will provide the infrastructure connecting Franklin Templeton’s tokenised fund with Tokinvest’s investment platform.

The partnership comes shortly after Tokinvest secured issuance and broker-dealer licences from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), enabling the company to issue, broker, and distribute tokenised real-world assets, including real estate, credit, commodities, and alternative investments.

Scott Thiel, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Tokinvest, said the collaboration will provide regional investors with access to a regulated, institutional-grade money market fund through blockchain-powered investment infrastructure.
