Bitcoin Gains Over 2% as Investor Risk Appetite Recovers

Bitcoin climbed more than 2% on Monday as improving investor sentiment supported demand for riskier assets, while oil prices retreated from five-month highs amid signs that supplies from the Middle East continued to reach markets.

The cryptocurrency’s recovery followed a decline of approximately 3% last week, when a broader sell-off in equity markets, particularly technology stocks, weighed on investor confidence. Renewed concerns over the scale of artificial intelligence investment spending contributed to the market downturn.

Damian Lo, chief investment officer at Eriksen Capital, described the latest advance as a rebound following a week of risk aversion. However, he cautioned that the market currently lacks strong near-term catalysts that could drive Bitcoin to fresh record highs, according to Bloomberg.

The latest price movement highlights the influence of broader financial market sentiment on cryptocurrency valuations, as investors continue to assess risk appetite, technology sector developments and geopolitical factors affecting global markets.
