Crypto Today: Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP Hold Steady as Market Eyes Rebound

Cryptocurrency prices were broadly stable on Friday, with Bitcoin attempting to build momentum above the $82,000 level, while Ethereum held above $2,500 and XRP edged higher after recovering the $1.40 support zone.

The cautious stabilization follows a volatile week for digital assets, during which macroeconomic pressures, geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East, elevated energy prices and heavy liquidation of leveraged positions weighed on the market.

Crypto Market Sentiment Weakens After Volatile Week

Bitcoin fell from levels close to $87,000 earlier in the week and briefly tested support near $80,000 on Thursday as selling pressure intensified.

The decline coincided with softer investor sentiment across the cryptocurrency market. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index stood at 59 on Friday, remaining in the “Greed” category but falling from 64 a day earlier.

The index has also declined from 72 last week and 66 last month, indicating that bullish sentiment has cooled despite remaining positive overall.

Investor confidence has been affected by uncertainty surrounding U.S. monetary policy. Minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee showed that most Federal Reserve officials still expect another interest rate increase before the end of the year.

However, market expectations for a rate hike in October have weakened, with the probability falling below 20%.

Higher interest rates and tighter financial conditions generally reduce investor appetite for risk-sensitive assets such as cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Face Heavy Outflows

Institutional investment flows have also weakened during the latest market correction.

Crypto Finance said in a market analysis that Bitcoin’s attempt to move toward $87,000 failed, while Ethereum slipped below the $2,500 level.

According to the report, spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded approximately $700 million in net outflows between Monday and Thursday.

Wednesday saw the largest daily Bitcoin ETF withdrawals of the month, totaling around $487 million.

Ethereum ETFs also experienced significant selling pressure, with approximately $486 million in net outflows over the same period.

The withdrawals extended a negative flow trend that began on September 29, signaling weaker institutional demand during the recent downturn.

Despite signs of recovery, continuing ETF outflows, macroeconomic uncertainty and geopolitical risks could limit the strength of any near-term rebound.

The $80,000 level remains an important support area for Bitcoin, and sustained demand around this zone could encourage consolidation or another attempt at recovery.

Bitcoin Reclaims $82,000 as Bulls Attempt Recovery

Bitcoin moved back above $82,000 on Friday as buyers returned following the week’s sustained sell-off.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency is showing early signs of stabilization, although several important resistance levels remain ahead.

From a technical perspective, Bitcoin continues to trade above its 50-day, 100-day and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages, suggesting that the broader market structure remains constructive.

The cryptocurrency is also holding above the SuperTrend indicator, currently positioned near $79,664.

This level may provide additional technical support if renewed selling pressure emerges.

However, momentum indicators suggest that buyers have not yet regained full control.

The Moving Average Convergence Divergence histogram remains negative, indicating that bearish momentum has not completely disappeared.

Meanwhile, the Relative Strength Index is hovering near the neutral 50 level, suggesting balanced market conditions rather than strong bullish momentum.

These indicators point to a cautious recovery, with Bitcoin stabilizing rather than entering a decisive upward breakout.

Ethereum Holds Above $2,500

Ethereum remained above the psychologically important $2,500 level on Friday after briefly falling below it during the recent market correction.

Holding this area could help improve short-term sentiment among traders, particularly if broader cryptocurrency markets continue to stabilize.

However, continued outflows from Ethereum ETFs remain a concern and could restrict upside momentum.

A sustained recovery would likely require stronger institutional demand and improved risk sentiment across global financial markets.

XRP Reclaims $1.40 Support

XRP also showed signs of stabilization after recovering the $1.40 level.

The token edged higher on Friday, with traders watching whether the reclaimed support can hold during the next phase of market activity.

Maintaining prices above $1.40 could strengthen the short-term technical outlook, while a renewed decline below the level could expose XRP to further selling pressure.

Crypto Market Outlook Remains Cautious

The cryptocurrency market appears to be entering a consolidation phase following this week’s sharp correction.

Bitcoin’s recovery above $82,000, Ethereum’s ability to remain above $2,500 and XRP’s return above $1.40 provide some encouragement for buyers.

However, several risks remain.

ETF outflows, geopolitical uncertainty, elevated energy prices and the possibility of additional Federal Reserve tightening could continue to limit market gains.

For Bitcoin, the $80,000 support zone remains a key level to watch. Continued buying interest around this area could help establish a stronger base for recovery, while a sustained move above recent resistance levels would be needed to confirm renewed bullish momentum.
